... an invitation to dance: an elegant lounge sound flirting with Jazz- and Soul tones
(ELLE)

Innovative musician meets promising singer. The consequences: A symbiotic collaboration trying to render zeitgeist and modernity musically comprehensible. Promoted as "Contemporary Pop", Sabine Meyer-Wiel and Christoph Selbach conjure an album between the styles, using Jazz, Chanson, Lounge and Soundtrack, which - based on a well mixed digital and real production - is real fun.

One year ago keyboarder Christoph Selbach and singer Sabine Meyer-Wiel [...] produced a very entertaining live performance made of predominantly sampled sounds, colorfully mixed music with witty lyrics and matching video installations. Now the Cologne/Berlin Duo calls itself "Amé Toki" and has further developed and prepared everything on the CD "No Maps for these Territories" for your CD-Player. With a whole bunch of real musicians and the wish to hold a mirror up to the globalized world. Amé Toki do that with multiple language nonsense lyrics, and a musical variety of Art Pop, Chanson, Jazz and Elektronics right up to film music. Frequently a good shot of irony resonates with melancholy, and when the singer in the song "Hope You Do Enjoy" pronounces the invitation "Let's misbehave like Bonnie & Clyde" you know that this Duo loves to refuse to follow the conventions, casting winking and joky looks onto modern life instead.
